Kidderminster PGMC Trustees Report for 2024/25

7th May 2025

Dear Colleagues,

Kidderminster PGMC Trustees Report for 2024/25

Accounts for the year ending 31st March 2025 confirm a balance of £80.049 in the Society’s reserves, down from £90,587 in 2023/24. At the same time the Trust’s income from our COIF Fixed Interest Investment has improved marginally to £2,481 while the capital sum invested has declined by £10,643 to £78,970. As a result of this rather modest investment income, and the expenditure of another £15,000 on five more bursary awards, the excess of expenditure over income remains significant at a level of £10,538. This compares with a negative balance of £8,139 in the previous financial year.

I can now report that our trustees met in the Education Centre towards the end of last year to consider applications for the Society’s postgraduate bursary for 2024/25. Contact had again been made with all 30 plus medical schools in the UK and these prompted five application with clear cut connections to the Wyre Forest area. These included Syeda Saara Ahmad, Brandon Caan, Philip Cobon, Sophie Griffiths and Macaulay Rose, all of whom had local addresses and/or had attended local schools. All five applicants were considered worthy of our bursary and were each awarded the full value of £3,000.

For the attached accounts and the above account details, we are again extremely grateful for the service so generously provided by Gordon Cox. Please let me know if these accounts, or any other matters in this report, need further clarification.

                                        Best wishes,

Martin Lewis, Chairman of the Trustees.
